High Voltage Probe

While in the process of building my first amplifier I needed a way to be able to read high voltage with my multimeter. And the easies way to  do that was to built a high voltage probe with resistors. The meter was design to read 10 to 1. Being that my multimeter read in 1000 v scale with no adjustment range. Some meters can set to read 10 volts, 100v or 1000v. Two of my other meter have adjustment to read in the 20v 200v range. This probe will not work with them unless I change the value of R11. Also the probe should be good for 6Kv voltage and a bit higher. All resistor are 2 watts and are in closed inside a half inch round air tubing purchase from a pet store. As you can see from the photos below. As for the wiring I used wire from test probe. The positive and ground side of the probe have alligator clips to be connected to high voltage side of what ever is being tested. The other end of the probe has banana plugs which connects to positive and negative side of the meter.
If you check my homebrew 30 meter amplifier project you can see the high voltage probe in action before its been in closed inside the tubing.

HIGH VOLTAGE CAN KILL!! I take no respond ability for any harm that may come to you when working with HIGH VOLTAGE.
IF YOU BUILT AND USED THIS DEVICE, YOU BUILD AND USE AT YOUR ON RISK. AGAIN HIGH VOLTAGE IS DEADLY.
